Midbrain Surfers creates improvisational music for concert and mixed media. Combining overtone/throat singing plus extended vocal techniques, jaw harps, melodica, slide-didgeridoo, electric oud, fretless bass, electro-acoustic percussion and electronics, their eclectic sound baths blend elements of jazz, neo-classical, world fusion, trip-hop, ambient, avant-garde and experimental music into dynamic, genre-defying, groove-driven spontaneous compositions.

Margaret Sweatman (novelist and spoken word artist), and Murray Toews (a visual artist who is also a spoken word artist) join Midbrain Surfers to create a new body of work right before your eyes and ears.
